Walk Threee

From the Bus Station walk towards the Pelican crossing then turn left, away from the crossing, down the path between the car park and tennis courts. At the end of the car park turn left and continue past Tesco’s to the Abbey junior school. Turn right on the path, cross the road, down between the houses. Cross the next road and continue down, pass the end of a close of bungalows, across the next road and through the underpass. Go straight ahead, cross Trafalgar way up the path opposite, bear right and then left up the hill. At the top you will see a flight of steps to your left leading up to Admirals way, take these, across the road, to your right you will see the access road up to Borough Hill Country Park, follow this road up to the car park.

Go through the pedestrian gate on your right and follow the path across the grass towards the left of a small brick building. Then continue along the track leaving the radio mast on your left and the bank of gorse bushes on your right. At the end of the bushes there is a clump of trees, just before them is a gate into the field on your right. Go through the gate, turn left and follow the edge of the field. At the end of the field turn left through to the adjacent field and climb over the gate to your right and into the lane. Head straight down the hill, note the raspberry canes on your right, continue down to meet a surfaced lane go straight on at the junction.

After 3/4 of a mile there is a T-junction. To your right you may see model aircraft being flown from the grassy field across the valley. Turn left and follow the lane to Norton village, you will be joined after 1/2 mile by a small road from the right. Bear right at the next fork and arrive in front of the White Horse for lunch.

Coming out of the White Horse turn left and walk along the footpath by the road, over the end of Borough hill and down to the golf course entrance where the road from Long Buckby joins from the right. Cross here to the left side of the road and continue down hill, cross the end of Admirals Way and follow the old Norton Road down, through the underpass and up the other side to Abbey Street. Cross the road here and go up the steps by the war memorial, bear left and follow the path round the back of the church, head for the right end of Tesco’s, cross Church walk and go down Little lane. At the end of the lane turn right to the Bus Station
